Job summary

Lextorah is seeking a Software Developer to join our Technology & AI team and contribute to the continued development and improvement of our digital learning solutions. The successful candidate will work with existing software and codebases, develop new features, fix bugs, integrate APIs and improve performance

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and improve existing applications and features.
• Work with existing codebases, APIs and databases.
• Build and test new product features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs.
• Collaborate with the Technology & AI team to translate requirements into solutions.
• Maintain clean, secure and well-documented code.
• Support continuous improvement of our digital products.

Requirements:

• 3 years' professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with modern frontend and/or backend development.
• Experience with APIs, databases and Git.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand and work with an existing codebase.
• Experience with AI/LLM integrations, EdTech, SaaS or automation is an advantage.
• Degree/HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field is preferred.

Technical Skills

Candidates should demonstrate practical experience with relevant technologies such as:

• Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, Next.js or similar.
• Backend: Node.js, Python, PHP, Java, or another modern backend technology.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or similar.
• APIs: REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Version Control: Git/GitHub or equivalent.
• Cloud/Deployment: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or comparable platforms.

Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:
