Software Developer for Embedded Systems

Position Overview

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation Android-based automotive infotainment systems. In this role, you will work with a globally distributed engineering team to design and deliver innovative software solutions for leading automotive manufacturers.

You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept and requirements analysis to production implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing software support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software for next-generation Android-based automotive infotainment systems.
• Contribute to software development throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition to production and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Modify and optimize existing software to fix defects, support new hardware platforms, and improve performance and non-functional requirements.
• Develop and maintain software tests and Python-based tools to support software quality and development efficiency.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams and third-party suppliers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Apply established software design methodologies and quality standards throughout the development process.

Requirements

• Proven experience in embedded software development.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Ability to work independently, analyze complex technical issues, and identify effective solutions.
• Experience developing software tests and tools using Python.
• Familiarity with software design methodologies, software quality standards, and Agile development processes.
• Hands-on experience with Linux kernel development is preferred.
• Knowledge of Android architecture and its development toolchain is an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), ARM processors, and hardware peripheral interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, and USB.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics and communication networks, including CAN and SOME/IP.
• Awareness of Functional Safety principles and Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) processes.
