Software Developer II

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt, Hybrid

Pay: Hourly, Biweekly

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM with a half-hour lunch or 5 PM with an hour lunch. This position requires 40+ hours a week depending on workload.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days per week onsite at our Eau Claire, WI office and 1 day remote. New hires work fully onsite for their first few months while onboarding.

The Role: This is a mid-level position for a developer with a few years of professional experience who is ready to take features from requirements to production with minimal supervision, review others’ code, and help newer developers grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently plan, write, test, and deploy features from business requirements through production
• Research technical requirements for new projects, identify potential problems early, and contribute to design decisions and estimates
• Maintain, improve/replace, and debug legacy software
• Write and maintain technical and procedural documentation for software
• Integrate business processes with third parties using web APIs and other modern network communication protocols
• Evaluate and provide constructive feedback to other developers in code review
• Mentor and share knowledge with other developers to increase overall team knowledge
• Participate in on-call rotation with other team members to provide support outside of working hours
• Includes bonus pay stipend for participation
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work onsite in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, 4 days per week (fully onsite during onboarding)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development, or 2+ years with a related degree
• Proficiency in back-end JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js)
• Experience developing and maintaining serverless functions on a cloud computing platform such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
• Experience developing and maintaining network communication technologies, such as REST or SOAP APIs and GraphQL, including working with JSON and XML payloads
• Firm understanding of applied Object-Oriented Programming principles
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and clearly communicate technical concepts
• Demonstrated continuous learning and the ability to communicate the purpose of code changes to others developers
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues
• Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment

Nice to Have

• Salesforce development experience (Apex, Lightning, Aura)
• Front-end experience with React, HTML, and SCSS
• Familiarity with microservice and event-driven architecture
• Experience working in an Agile/iterative development process
• Exposure to other back-end languages, such as Python or Go

Pay: $75,600.00 - $91,100.00 per year
