Software Developer – Imaging & Automation | Python & WMS SQL

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Developer with strong Python and WMS SQL experience and an interest in imaging, automation, and emerging technology

This role sits at the intersection of software development, computer vision, machine learning, and industrial automation. You’ll develop solutions that use image data to analyze production processes and help integrate those insights into automated systems and real-time operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data and imaging technologies, and collaborating with automation, infrastructure, and operations teams.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and deploy image analysis solutions that support production workflows
• Use Python and WMS SQL to develop applications, process data, and support production systems
• Apply computer vision and machine learning techniques to extract meaningful information from images
• Work with technologies such as OpenCV, YOLO, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Integrate imaging systems with automation and control systems, including sensors, actuators, and machine interfaces
• Design and maintain reliable pipelines for transmitting image data and analysis results across enterprise networks
• Develop and support software running in Linux and containerized environments
• Collaborate with automation, infrastructure, engineering, and operations teams to deploy production-ready solutions
• Participate in prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of software and automation systems
• Use Git and CI/CD practices to manage and deploy software

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; ABET-accredited program preferred
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong Python development experience
• Strong WMS SQL experience
• Experience with image processing, computer vision, or image analysis
• Experience with machine learning or deep learning frameworks such as OpenCV, YOLO, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies
• Front-end development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Experience interfacing with I/O devices, sensors, or equipment used in automation or machine control
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a prototyping, R&D, or engineering environment
• Experience with industrial automation systems or equipment
• Hands-on experience developing or deploying deep learning/CNN-based image models
• Experience with networking and firewall configuration
• Experience integrating software with physical equipment, controls, or manufacturing/production systems
