SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / PROGRAMMER

JOB TITLE: SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / PROGRAMMERJOB SUMMARY

The Software Developer will design, develop, test, deploy and maintain reliable and scalable software applications that support organizational and customer requirements.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with product, design and technology teams to build secure, efficient and high-quality software solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze software requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain software applications.
• Write clean, maintainable and scalable code.
• Develop and integrate APIs and third-party services.
• Design and interact with relational and non-relational databases.
• Conduct software testing and debugging.
• Identify and resolve technical defects and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain development standards.
• Develop technical documentation.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and product teams.
• Implement security and data-protection best practices.
• Maintain and improve existing software applications.
• Participate in software deployment and release management.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and development frameworks.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making where required.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Depending on the specialization, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in relevant technologies such as:

Frontend:
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular or Vue.js.

Backend:
Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, C#, .NET, Go or comparable technologies.

Databases:
MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB or equivalent.

Other:
Git/GitHub, REST APIs, cloud platforms, CI/CD and software-development methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Sc./B.Eng./HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
• 2–5 years' professional software-development experience, depending on level.
• Demonstrable portfolio of software projects.
• Strong knowledge of software-development principles.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working with Git/version-control systems.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is an advantage.
