What they need
- We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our System Integration Team at Sony Interactive Entertainment
- In this role, you will support quality engineering for customer-facing applications in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, helping ensure that new and existing features meet a high bar for reliability, usability, and overall player experience
- Review product requirements and design documents to create effective testing strategies
- Build concrete test plans, write test cases and execute them to ensure quality of features
- Implement and maintain test automation scripts to increase test coverage and stability
- Develop, maintain and improve test automation framework
- Report, track and verify defects as well as monitor Automation jobs
- Provide status reports to Leadership and other key partners
- Work with the infrastructure team to maintain common services such as CI test pipelines- Experience with version control solutions (both centralized and distributed)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge
- Experience maintaining CI systems (Jenkins preferred)
- 3+ years experience in UI automation for web or native applications
- Experience with Selenium or Appium
- Experience in one or more Programming/Scripting Languages, preferably Python
- Validated experience in Software testing life cycle
- You have a strong drive and passion for quality and can help inspire, motivate, and influence team members toward better engineering outcomes
- You communicate clearly and professionally with partners at all levels, including technical teams, product stakeholders, and project leads
- You are comfortable asking questions, identifying risks early, and helping the team make informed quality and release decisions
- You are effective at working with geographically distributed and culturally diverse teams
- You are curious, proactive, and willing to go beyond immediate assignments to deeply understand the systems you support
- Experience with at least one modern web application framework such as Angular/Ember.js/React
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience developing or testing a non-PC device (phone/game console/set-top box, etc.)
- Significant experience with Python
- Experience with Node.js, React Native
- Experience developing or writing test code for a game console
