DESCRIPTION

Invent the future of conversational advertising powered by Large Language Models. Join the CAX (Conversational Ad Experiences) team, where you'll build industry-first sponsored conversational shopping experiences on Amazon Search—directly impacting how hundreds of millions of shoppers discover and engage with products.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of Generative AI and advertising at Amazon's scale. As a Software Development Engineer on the CAX team, you will drive major product and engineering initiatives that are both ambiguous and high-impact, building the systems that bring LLM-powered ad experiences to life in production. You'll partner directly with our science team to implement large language models, contribute to LLMOps, and build the ML infrastructure and data pipelines that power personalized conversational experiences.

What makes this role unique:

  • Industry-first innovation — You'll pioneer conversational AI experiences in advertising that don't exist anywhere else yet
  • GenAI at the core — LLMs aren't a side project here; they're the product. You'll ship GenAI to hundreds of millions of shoppers
  • Full-stack impact — From large-scale distributed systems to ML infrastructure to customer-facing UX on Amazon Search
  • Shape the roadmap — Ambiguous problem space means your ideas directly influence what gets built

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and develop net-new conversational ad experiences on the Amazon Search page
  • Build large-scale, low-latency distributed systems and ML infrastructure to power LLM-driven ad experiences in production
  • Partner with the science team to implement and operationalize large language models (LLMOps)
  • Build and maintain data processing pipelines that support personalized, AI-driven advertising at scale
  • Pioneer new approaches to conversational AI and natural language interactions in advertising
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven solutions across the advertising ecosystem
  • Create scalable systems to deliver explicitly personalized ad experiences to hundreds of millions of shoppers
  • Drive end-to-end ownership of key customer-facing functionality—from design through deployment and operations
