Position Summary

TheSoftware Development Intern will work with experienced engineers on supervised,hands-on assignments supporting the development, testing, enhancement, andmaintenance of enterprise software products used by research and complianceorganizations. Assignments will be selected based on the intern's education,demonstrated skills, project needs, and development objectives.

Major Responsibilities

1. Assistwith development and enhancement of application features under the direction ofsenior developers or technical leads.

2. Write,debug, test, and document application code consistent with team standards.

3. Developunit tests and assist with integration, regression, and defect verificationactivities.

4. Investigatesoftware defects and implement approved fixes under supervision.

5. Assistwith REST APIs, integrations, data validation, database queries, anddata-migration activities as assigned.

6. Supportmodernization of legacy application components and front-end development usingapproved technologies.

7. Participatein code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, demonstrations, andengineering team meetings.

8. Prepareand maintain technical documentation for assigned work.

9. Collaboratewith Development, QC, Product Management, and other teams to understandrequirements and acceptance criteria.

10. Use company-approvedsource-control, CI/CD, issue-management, security, and development practices.

11. Take on progressively morecomplex assignments as technical proficiency and product knowledge increase.

Product, Data & AI/ML Responsibilities

Dependingon assigned projects, the intern may:

1. Assistwith the development and integration of AI/ML and predictive analyticscapabilities within research management and compliance applications.

2. Prepare,process, validate, and analyze research-related data used for applicationdevelopment, analytics, reporting, and approved AI/ML use cases.

3. Assistin developing and evaluating basic machine-learning models to identifypatterns, trends, and potential predictive insights from research data.

4. Supportdevelopment of data integrations, dashboards, reporting tools, and automatedworkflows that improve access to and use of research information.

5. Assistwith integrating AI/ML models and data-processing capabilities into existingenterprise applications and APIs under technical supervision.

6. Supportapplication capabilities for managing research protocols, approvals, amendments,grants, disclosures, and related research information.

7. Developpractical understanding of research compliance processes supported by companyproducts, including IRB, IACUC, IBC, and COI, and apply approved requirementsto assigned development work.

8. Assistwith designing and testing software capabilities that support regulatorycompliance, data integrity, traceability, and accurate tracking and reportingof research activities.

9. Workwith senior developers, product/domain specialists, and QA personnel to refinealgorithms, validate results, and improve data-processing and applicationfunctionality.

10. Research emerging AI/ML, dataanalytics, and software-development technologies and, under guidance, evaluatetheir potential application to company products.

Qualifications

1. Recentlycompleted a Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D., or other qualifying degree in arelated technical field.

2. Degreefield should be Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering,Information Technology, Data Science, or a closely related technical field.

3. Foundationalknowledge of programming, object-oriented concepts, databases, algorithms, andsoftware-development practices.

4. Coursework,academic projects, prior internship experience, or other evidence ofsoftware-development capability.

5. Abilityto analyze problems, learn new technologies, communicate clearly, and workcollaboratively.

Preferred Technical Exposure

Exposureto one or more of the following is helpful but not required:

1. Javaand object-oriented programming

2. Spring/ Spring Boot

3. JavaScript/ TypeScript and Angular or React

4. SQLand relational databases

5. RESTAPIs

6. Git/ source control

7. Unitor automated testing

8. CI/CDor cloud technologies
