Software Development Manager, EU INTech PGX

Description The EU International Technology (EU INTech) charter for Partner Growth and Experiences (PGX) is established to deliver coherent and personalised experiences for Selling Partners (SP) and Amazon teams, enabling them to manage their business growth across Amazon WW stores as a single-store experience, benefiting Amazon customers by accelerating Amazon flywheel. Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Manager (SDM) to join the EU INTech's PGX Org in Bangalore. The Software Development Manager of this team will be responsible for managing the team’s roadmap, creating innovating culture to embrace quickly the changing technological landscape and bring ideas to delight our customers, working with product managers in shaping the ideas to a fine product features, working with diverse stakeholders to deliver the right things at the right time, reviewing design/architectures, guiding team with right technical choices and hiring & creating right opportunities to grow the team. The team’s software is backed by Java, Amazon Internal services and 3P libraries.

The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science, have an affinity to being a leader, have experience running software teams with Agile methodologies, and experience owning a product roadmap for shipping software.

A day in the life

You Will

• Lead a team of engineers to design, build and operate full stack applications.
• Establish a clear vision for your team and generate urgency to deliver for our customers.
• Have a laser focus on delivering results - even if that means disrupting process or protocol.
• Articulate behaviors that can grow careers. Your people development radar is always on.
• Quickly dissect the nuances of trade-offs, making conscious choices and overcoming challenges.
• Constructively parse, ingest, challenge and reframe proposals / plans for the better.
• Adjust gracefully to change while maintaining team energy and focus.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
