Software Development Manager, MCP/AI

For our client, we are seeking a Software Development Manager, MCP/AI to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will lead a growing engineering function focused on building agentic AI capabilities and production-grade software systems. You will shape technical direction, develop a high-performing team, and partner closely with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, responsible AI solutions. The position combines hands-on technical strategy with people leadership, with an emphasis on quality, experimentation, and scalable delivery. This is an opportunity to help define and operationalize a new platform capability from the ground up.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $205,700 annually

Responsibilities

• Hire and develop a diverse, high-performing engineering team with ML/AI expertise
• Foster a culture of ownership, quality, experimentation, and responsible AI
• Plan, prioritize, and deliver agentic capabilities reliably
• Set technical strategy and roadmap for the agentic platform with senior engineers
• Collaborate across teams to integrate capabilities into a shared agentic layer
• Establish evaluation criteria for AI systems and embed them in delivery processes
• Maintain engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and support
• Manage risks, remove blockers, and communicate progress to stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3+ years managing software engineers and 7+ years in software engineering
• Proven experience delivering complex, production-grade systems
• Experience leading teams that developed AI/ML products or workflows
• Understanding of LLMs and agentic workflows, including system evaluations
• Familiarity with modern software practices, including cloud-native architectures, APIs, and CI/CD
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
