🚀 Software Engineer – AI Agents & Agentic Infrastructure

About the Role

We are seeking a high-caliber, self-directed Software Engineer to architect and scale the next generation of agentic systems at a leading global hedge fund.

In this role, you will build production-grade systems that combine Large Language Models (LLMs), distributed software engineering, real-time data pipelines, and domain-specific financial tools. You will directly shape how intelligent agents reason, retrieve, plan, and execute within a high-stakes, mission-critical investment platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role: you will prototype, stress-test, break, and scale complex probabilistic systems into resilient production services working alongside elite investment professionals and quant teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Agentic Frameworks & Orchestration: Design, build, and deploy agent workflows, multi-agent orchestration, tool integration, and sandboxed execution environments.
• Retrieval & Knowledge Systems: Architect state-of-the-art RAG pipelines, hybrid search, and grounding mechanisms across massive structured and unstructured financial data.
• Distributed Microservices: Build high-performance, fault-tolerant production services and APIs using Python, .NET, and TypeScript on modern cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluation & Observability: Monitor, evaluate, and continuously refine agent performance, memory retention, guardrails, and decision-making behavior in production.
• Production Excellence: Investigate and resolve complex distributed system failures, optimizing concurrency, throughput, and system reliability across the stack.

Mandatory Technical Qualifications

• 7+ Years of Core Software Engineering Experience: Proven track record building distributed, service-oriented architectures, concurrent messaging systems, and high-performance APIs.
• Core Language Stack: Strong proficiency in Python and .NET (C#) , combined with hands-on skills in TypeScript / JavaScript .
• Computer Science Fundamentals: Deep understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), system design patterns, and handling failures gracefully.
• Infrastructure & Cloud: Hands-on experience with Docker, container orchestration, CI/CD, and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Applied AI & Agentic Design:
• Practical grasp of agentic architecture, memory, planning, tool selection, and execution frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex).
• Strong familiarity with RAG, vector embeddings, hybrid search, and grounding techniques.
• Solid understanding of foundational ML concepts (embeddings, inference, evaluation, probabilistic system limitations)— no ML research background required
