Role Overview

Client is looking for a Software Engineer, Autonomous Systems with 5+ years of experience in autonomy or robotics software to develop production-quality autonomy algorithms that run directly on physical autonomous maritime vehicles.

The ideal candidate has deep C++ expertise , strong autonomy algorithm experience, and hands-on experience deploying software to real-world hardware.

• Experience developing software that runs onboard physical hardware systems

Work Authorization

• Must be ITAR eligible

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an Autonomy Engineer or Robotics Software Engineer
• Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, defense, or related technology
• Bachelor's degree
• Strong C++ programming skills
• Experience with embedded systems and/or software deployed on bare metal
• Experience with ROS and sensor integration
• Strong understanding of:
• Computer vision
• Sensor fusion
• Localization
• Tracking trajectories
• Handling uncertainty and noisy sensor data
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, test, and deploy production autonomy software in C++ for autonomous maritime vehicles
• Develop algorithms for:
• Perception
• Localization
• Planning
• Navigation
• Decision-making
• Collision and terrain avoidance
• Integrate radar, cameras, and other sensor modalities through sensor-fusion systems
• Build and maintain local and global planners using map and sensor data
• Optimize algorithms for accuracy, robustness, latency, computational cost, and reliability
• Deploy and optimize software on constrained onboard compute, including NVIDIA Jetson
• Use simulation, testing, telemetry, and real-world vehicle data to validate autonomous behavior
• Develop Python-based tools to accelerate testing, debugging, and development
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of the next-generation autonomy stack
