SOFTWARE ENGINEER (BACKEND)

Our technologies include C++/C#/.NET, SQL Server, MySQL, Windows/Linux, web/mobile, Unreal Engine 5, MQTT, gRPC, REST, and Docker.

Your Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend components, services, and customised software for existing products and customer projects.
• Translate requirements into module designs and test cases, considering edge cases, failures, and integration impacts.
• Integrate components, debug issues, review code, and maintain existing functionality.
• Participate in technical discussions, explain design decisions, and raise issues early.
• Maintain technical documentation and research technologies for AI-enabled features.

Technical Requirements

• Software development experience, proficient in C++ and/or C#/.NET, with experience maintaining existing codebases. C++11/14 or later is welcome.
• Good understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Familiarity with the full SDLC, from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience designing software modules and test cases, including edge cases and failure scenarios.
• Understanding of concurrency, shared state, race conditions, synchronisation, and resource management.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to understand unfamiliar code.
• Working knowledge of Git (branches, merges, conflict resolution) and SQL (queries, joins, basic data updates).
