JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer (2134 Soc Code) will work in an agile environment, enhancing and designing software components for products. You will execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, gaining valuable experience and skills. Your contributions will help ensure our systems are secure, stable, and scalable. You will be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and systems based on business and client requirements.
• Develop reliable, secure, scalable and high-performance software solutions using suitable technologies.
• Work throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Develop and test applications using Python.
• Work with relational databases and integrate applications with databases, APIs and other systems.
• Analyse client requirements and translate them into suitable technical designs and software solutions.
• Write and maintain tests, troubleshoot technical issues, refactor existing code and improve application performance.
• Carry out code reviews and follow appropriate software development, testing, security and quality standards.
• Work closely with IT consultants, developers, project teams and clients to deliver software projects successfully.
• Provide technical support, maintain technical documentation and ensure applications remain secure, stable and reliable.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

· Strong understanding of computer science and software development principles.

· Relevant experience in Software Engineering, Software Development or Application Development.

· Good understanding of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

· Practical programming experience using Python.

· Experience in designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications.

· Knowledge of relational database systems and database integration.

· Experience with software testing, debugging, troubleshooting and code refactoring.

· Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into technical designs and working software solutions.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a development/project team and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

· Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

· Experience developing reliable, scalable and high-performance software applications.

· Experience working within structured software development processes covering build, test, deployment and maintenance.

· Experience developing applications using Python.

· Experience working with relational database systems.

· Knowledge of application security, software integration and web-based technologies.

· Experience working in an Agile software development environment.

· Previous experience working on client-based software development or IT consultancy projects would be advantageous.

Salary: £56,000 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours

Pay: £56,000.00-£56,500.00 per year
