Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. This position is well suited to an experienced professional who enjoys solving technical problems, takes pride in producing quality work, and values working closely with others.

Core responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Translate technical requirements into practical software solutions.
• Review existing code and make improvements where appropriate.
• Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Develop and maintain automated tests to support software quality.
• Work with product, design, and engineering colleagues throughout the development process.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
• Support software releases and help investigate issues in production environments.
• Keep technical documentation current and useful for the wider team.

Qualifications and experience

• Professional experience in software development or a similar engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of at least one modern programming language.
• Good understanding of software development principles, data structures, and application architecture.
• Experience working with relational or non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated tests.
• Understanding of modern development practices and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to investigate technical problems methodically and reach practical solutions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications are welcome but not required.

Compensation and schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Standard business hours
• £64,000 to £66,000 per year
