Software Engineer

Job Title: Software Engineer

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: New York (Midtown)

Experience Required:

• Solid commercial experience building and maintaining production web applications ([~3+] years, though we care more about depth than dates)
• Strong in either Python or TypeScript/JavaScript, and willing to become competent in the other
• Comfortable with relational databases and writing non-trivial SQL
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and CI/CD — you can ship your own work to production
• Clear communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to non-engineers, and who's comfortable with ambiguity in an early-stage product
• Pragmatic about quality: you know when to invest in tests and abstractions and when to move fast

Nice to have:

• FastAPI, async Python, or WebSockets at scale
• Hands-on work with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google), agent frameworks, MCP, RAG or evaluation tooling
• Graph databases (Neo4j/Cypher) or cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, dbt)
• Next.js, Tailwind, or complex data-grid/visualisation work (AG Grid, D3, Nivo)
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform), Docker, or platform/DevOps ownership
• Experience in Financial Services
