You’re happy to jump into an existing codebase but not intimidated when a project starts from scratch. When someone tells you what they’ve been vibe coding, you worry that the vibes might be off. Accessibility is important to you. You’d rather ask a clarifying question than guess at a requirement, and you want to understand the business problem before you start solving it. MBB’s technology team is big into building accessible, beautiful, mobile responsive websites and applications for our amazing clients. We’re currently looking for a Software Engineer to add to our team.

The work you’ll do:

• Build accessible, responsive websites and applications from design files (Adobe XD, Figma, etc.)
• Write semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript, with or without a framework such as React, Next.js, or Astro
• Use Git for branching, pull requests, and code review (we use Azure DevOps and GitHub)
• Read requirements closely, spot gaps early, and ask good questions before the gaps become bugs
• Explain technical decisions clearly to clients and teammates who aren’t developers
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and clients, and work well on your own
• Manage multiple long-term projects along with often urgent smaller tasks
• Estimate and plan work

The credentials you have:

• An eye for design, front-end performance, and accessibility
• Experience with CSS preprocessors such as Sass or PostCSS
• Solid JavaScript skills, with and without a framework
• A passion for UI development and learning new technologies

Bonus points for:

• PHP and PHP CMSs such as WordPress
• Headless CMSs and content modeling
• Building or integrating APIs (REST, GraphQL)
• Mobile app development, such as React Native
• Testing experience

Tuesday through Thursday, we head into the office. We have happy hours every Thursday and half days on summer Fridays.
