About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, building reliable software, and working closely with others to turn ideas into practical solutions. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and designing solutions to writing code, testing functionality, and supporting applications after release.

The right candidate brings sound technical judgment, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. We value engineers who take ownership of their work, communicate clearly, and understand that good software is built through thoughtful collaboration and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that meet business and user requirements.
  • Work with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define technical requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with established development standards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, performance issues, and technical challenges.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and design sessions to maintain code quality and share knowledge across the team.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to improve application reliability and reduce regression issues.
  • Contribute to the improvement of development workflows, deployment processes, and engineering practices.
  • Monitor application performance, investigate production issues, and help ensure the stability and security of software systems.
  • Stay informed about relevant technologies and recommend improvements when they can deliver meaningful benefits.

What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience developing software applications using one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data management practices.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git and collaborating through established development workflows.
  • An understanding of software testing, debugging, and the principles of writing maintainable code.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break complex challenges into manageable tasks.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different technical and business functions.

How You'll Work

You will be part of an engineering team that values practical thinking, accountability, and open communication. We encourage engineers to ask questions, share ideas, and take an active role in improving the products and systems they support. Whether you are implementing a new feature or refining an existing application, your work will contribute to the reliability, usability, and long-term quality of our software.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to develop your technical expertise while working on meaningful engineering challenges in a collaborative environment. You'll have room to expand your skills, contribute ideas, and take on greater responsibility as you grow. Based in Kansas City, the role offers the opportunity to build strong working relationships with a team focused on delivering dependable, well-designed software.
