Software Engineer

You will join our “ATM Surveillance Data Processing” team and contribute to the modernization of

critical systems used in operational air traffic management.

Working in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment, you will participate in transforming a

large legacy system into a modern service-oriented architecture while maintaining the highest standards

of quality, reliability and performance. The role covers the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements

analysis and software development to verification, validation and compliance activities.

You will work within an Agile team where autonomy, collaboration, continuous learning and continuous

improvement are key success factors.

Your missions

• Participate in the modernization and service decomposition of a critical legacy system within the ATM Surveillance processing chain.
• Design, develop and maintain high-availability back-end applications using Java and modern development practices.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
• Contribute to the definition and implementation of automated test strategies using Java and Cucumber.
• Analyse operational and user needs and translate them into software requirements and technical solutions.
• Produce and maintain project documentation, including system and software requirements, design descriptions, test specifications and associated traceability artefacts.
• Participate in verification and validation activities throughout the development lifecycle,including test planning, test execution, reporting, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Contribute to certification, compliance and quality assurance activities required for Air Traffic Management systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes, automation, quality and compliance.

Your profile

• Engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Aeronautics or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing complex software systems.
• Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments.
• Experience with requirements engineering, verification & validation activities, and software lifecycle documentation.
• Familiarity with software quality standards and engineering processes is an asset.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring and MVN.
• Experience with Netty, messaging systems or low-level network communication is a strong advantage.
• Good knowledge of Linux environments, networking and distributed systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand operational needs and translate them into software solutions.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and quality-driven mindset.
• Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English (written and spoken, C1 level minimum). French and/or German is a plus.
