Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically strong Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who can design, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills and hands-on experience with Java, Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, React and SQL.

This role focuses on engineering-led test automation, debugging and improving software quality rather than manual testing alone.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and test scripts.

Build and execute automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript.

Test web applications built with React and validate database operations using SQL.

Perform REST and GraphQL API testing.

Debug application issues, investigate failures and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.

Develop and maintain test automation for Java-based applications using Maven.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Jules.

Perform performance and load testing using Apache JMeter.

Work with containerised environments and Kubernetes.

Apply AI-assisted testing practices and relevant AI tools where appropriate.

Validate payment-related workflows and ensure transaction reliability.

Collaborate with developers, engineers and stakeholders to improve software quality and release confidence.

Required Skills and Experience

Strong software engineering and test automation experience.

Hands-on experience with Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript and React.

Java and Maven.

SQL and database testing.

REST/GraphQL API testing.

Jenkins/Jules CI/CD pipeline experience.

Apache JMeter for performance testing.

Kubernetes and containerised environments.

Payment domain knowledge.

Relevant AI certification.
