Software Engineer-Developer 3 (Virtual)

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer-Developer 3 (Virtual) to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

This role will focus on designing and developing non-embedded software across its full lifecycle, with an emphasis on translating customer needs into practical technical solutions. The position will partner across teams to improve system integration, strengthen reliability and efficiency, and ensure software architecture and design documentation remains clear and current. It will also support issue resolution, user feedback analysis, and ongoing process improvement to help drive stronger software performance.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $118,150 – $182,850 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and develop non-embedded software across its lifecycle
• Translate customer requirements into software design
• Enhance and optimize software for system integration
• Maintain documentation of architectures and designs
• Debug software products for reliability and efficiency
• Handle user inquiries and analyze technical feedback
• Monitor and improve software processes and performance metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Proficiency in software design and development lifecycle
• Experience with debugging and troubleshooting technical issues
• Ability to manage software projects and supplier performance
• Familiarity with current and emerging technologies in software development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
