Software Engineer – Developer Tooling | Systematic Trading

We're partnering with one of the world's leading quantitative investment firms to hire a Software Engineer to join its Developer Tooling team, supporting a highly sophisticated systematic trading business.

This is a software engineering-focused role, building the tools, build systems, and development environments that enable engineers and quantitative researchers to develop, test, and deploy production software efficiently.

You'll work in a highly technical environment where improving developer productivity has a direct impact on research and trading capabilities.

What you'll work on:

• Building and improving developer tooling across large-scale C++ and Python codebases
• Developing and optimizing build systems using CMake/Conan/Bazel, and related technologies
• Improving compilation times, dependency management, and build reliability
• Automating development workflows, testing, and CI/CD processes
• Building internal tools that improve engineering productivity and software delivery
• Working closely with software engineers and quantitative researchers to identify and solve development bottlenecks

What they're looking for:

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
• Experience with build systems such as CMake, Conan, or Bazel
• Solid understanding of Linux, software development workflows, and debugging
• Interest in developer productivity, build optimization, and software engineering infrastructure
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a willingness to tackle complex technical challenges
