Software Engineer (DevOps / DevSecOps)

• The Software Engineer I role involves designing, developing, and testing software applications for space systems and technologies

• In this role, you will design, develop, and test software applications for space systems and technologies while writing clean, maintainable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards
• You will collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and complete assigned tasks efficiently
• Utilizing version control systems such as Git, you will manage code changes and work collaboratively with team members
• You will participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance with development standards, troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues in a timely manner, and document software designs, configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference
• Additionally, you will stay current with industry trends and advancements in software development and space technologies to continuously improve your skills and contribute effectively to the team

• Basic understanding of one or more programming languages and software development principles
• Requires bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Typically, 0 - 2+ years of experience
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline concepts (e.g., GitHub Actions or GitLab CI)
• Coursework or project experience with C/C++ build tools is a plus (CMake, Conan)
• Familiarity with Linux environments
• Basic proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Basic familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker
• Some exposure to or coursework/project experience related to DevOps/DevSecOps practices
• Foundational understanding of security and software development best practices
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to assist in identifying inefficiencies in development workflows under guidance
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with eagerness to learn from senior team members
• Exposure to orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus
• Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Basic exposure to infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Exposure to logging and monitoring tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
