Software Engineer (ERP Specialist)

About the role

As a Software Engineer (ERP Specialist) you embed directly with Finance, Sales, Warehouse, and Operations teams, find the real pain, design the solution, and ship it to production. You own the full loop: requirement gathering, ER diagram and user journey, build, deploy, adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Embedded with the business: Sit with EPC, O&M, Accounting, Sales, and Operations to find where time disappears, then turn it into a spec that can be built, covering who uses it, what they enter, and what they must see on screen.
• Build and extend Odoo: Custom modules that match how VOLT actually works, including a two entity intercompany setup that shares one operating system, keeps separate books, and reconciles on both sides.
• Own every integration: Odoo, PEAK (accounting), CRM, and whatever comes next, including chasing vendors for API access. Remove the manual bridges behind them: file exports, duplicate data entry, and the month end reconciliation.
• Design and build the platform: Data models, ER diagrams, user journeys, and system architecture. Backend services in Python (FastAPI or Flask), internal tools in Vue.js, and AI capability inside the ERP such as document extraction, intelligent automation, and anomaly detection.
• Deploy and operate what you build: Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, Prometheus and Grafana. You stay with it until people actually use it, not until UAT passes, and when the same problem appears in three departments you build it once and build it well.
• Lead partners and communicate up: Guide external developers and AI coding tools so the output is correct and maintainable, and report progress, risk, and trade offs direct to business and senior stakeholders.

About you

• ERP Experience: Hands-on experience developing or customizing Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, ERPNext, or an in-house ERP system.
• Python Experience: 3+ years of professional Python engineering experience.
• Production API Integration: Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication flows, pagination, error handling, data synchronization, and reconciliation when data between systems does not match.
• PostgreSQL & Data: Strong SQL skills with a solid understanding of data structures, database design, and algorithms. Able to work carefully with production data.
• Git & Code Quality: Comfortable using Git and following good development practices. You should be able to write clean, maintainable code that other developers can understand and continue to develop.
• System Design Thinking: Able to independently design ER diagrams, data models, user journeys, and system architecture based on business requirements—and capable of turning those designs into working systems.
