Software Engineer I, Frontend (Upfunnel)

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer I, Frontend (Upfunnel) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role focuses on building and improving customer-facing web experiences that support a high-volume financial services environment. You will partner closely with cross-functional teammates to deliver reliable, scalable frontend solutions while balancing speed, quality, and business impact. The work will involve navigating a sizable codebase, using modern debugging and monitoring practices, and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $101,000 – $151,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance high-traffic frontend experiences across the company's web applications
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of risks and trade-offs
• Balance speed and quality to achieve business goals while minimizing system downtime
• Utilize debugging and monitoring tools to maintain cross-browser reliability
• Engage in team growth activities to foster a supportive community

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience shipping web applications with frameworks like React or Vue
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
• Ability to translate simple problems into scalable solutions
• Experience navigating large codebases and conducting code reviews
• Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and proactivity in seeking feedback
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration
