Software Engineer II, Data

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer II, Data to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on designing and building scalable data solutions that support reliable analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making. The engineer will partner with stakeholders across the business to translate data needs into maintainable pipelines and high-quality data assets. This position also requires a strong emphasis on validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a remote environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $105,603 – $152,884 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and build end-to-end data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and data strategy needs
• Write unit tests and validate data against acceptance criteria
• Conduct impact analysis for changes across applications
• Document code and projects to support maintainability and long-term support
• Troubleshoot production issues and propose effective solutions
• Participate in code reviews and communicate changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years of data engineering experience
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark
• Experience designing scalable batch and/or streaming data pipelines
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data management
• Familiarity with data governance and quality frameworks
