Software Engineer II, Marketplace Optimzation

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer II, Marketplace Optimzation to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on building and operating scalable backend systems that support real-time decisioning and marketplace experimentation. You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop reliable technical solutions that improve system performance, simplify operations, and expand future marketplace capabilities. The position also includes opportunities to apply Generative AI tools within the development lifecycle to enhance engineering productivity and delivery.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $142,000 – $196,600 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and operate scalable backend systems for real-time decisioning.
• Develop platform capabilities for experimentation in marketplace strategies.
• Create reliable services balancing availability, latency, and operational simplicity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective technical solutions.
• Simplify and innovate systems to enhance future marketplace capabilities.
• Utilize Generative AI tools in the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with scalable backend or distributed systems in production.
• Proficient in developing production services with modern backend languages.
• Experience handling business-critical systems with monitoring and incident response.
• Knowledge of designing production systems with a focus on reliability and observability.
