Software Engineer – Intelligent Mobility

As FEV Group / B&W Automotive Engineering Mexico continues to grow, we are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Intelligent Mobility team as a full-time employee.

At FEV, Software Engineers work on challenging automotive projects involving embedded software, vehicle communication, electronic control units, and advanced mobility technologies. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies, collaborate with international teams, and interact directly with customers.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for gathering system requirements, defining software specifications, developing and integrating software solutions, and supporting their validation throughout the development process.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ software for automotive applications.
• Develop software in embedded Linux environments.
• Implement and integrate vehicle communication protocols and bus interfaces.
• Develop application software for automotive electronic control units (ECUs).
• Perform software integration, debugging, and validation activities.
• Support the integration of ECUs into different vehicle applications.
• Analyze and troubleshoot vehicle electrical and electronic systems, including components and wiring.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and international engineering teams.
• Participate in requirements analysis, software design, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
• Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements and support project execution.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in software development, preferably in the automotive or embedded systems industry.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience in software development, integration, debugging, and testing.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and/or test-driven development (TDD).
• Familiarity with microcontrollers and automotive electronic systems.
• Understanding of vehicle communication protocols and automotive networks.
• Advanced English proficiency, required for communication with international teams and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Embedded Linux.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Qt.
• Knowledge of CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, or other automotive communication protocols.
• Experience with AUTOSAR.
• Experience with sensor fusion, Kalman filters, or machine learning.
• Experience with Java or JavaScript.
• Experience with electrical circuit design and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in an automotive OEM, Tier 1, or engineering services environment.
