Software Engineer Intern

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work directly with our engineering team to develop, optimize, and maintain robust web applications. You will write clean backend logic, design relational database structures, and leverage cutting-edge AI developer tooling—specifically Claude Code —to accelerate feature delivery, testing, and debugging.

• Duration: 3–6 Months (with potential for full-time conversion based on performance)
• Work Arrangement: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and deploying backend APIs and modules using PHP and Laravel .
• Write efficient SQL queries, create database migrations, and optimize schema design for performance and data integrity.
• Integrate Claude Code into your daily development workflow for rapid scaffolding, automated code generation, refactoring, and code review.
• Collaborate with frontend and full-stack engineers to integrate RESTful APIs.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and bug triage.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following PSR standards and best practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Core Languages & Frameworks: Solid understanding of modern PHP (8.x) and core Laravel concepts (Routing, Eloquent ORM, Middleware, Service Providers, Authentication).
• Database & SQL: Strong grasp of relational database fundamentals, writing clean SQL queries, indexing, and joins (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• AI-Assisted Development: Hands-on experience or working familiarity with Claude Code (or similar Anthropic Claude terminal/agentic tooling) to inspect codebases, write unit tests, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Web Fundamentals: Basic understanding of RESTful API architecture, HTTP protocol, Git version control, and JSON handling.
• Problem-Solving: Strong logical reasoning, algorithmic thinking, and eagerness to learn new technologies quickly.
• Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Bonus Points

• Prior side projects or contributions to open-source Laravel applications.
• Basic familiarity with frontend tooling (Blade, Vue.js, React, or Tailwind CSS).
• Experience writing unit and feature tests with PHPUnit or Pest.
