1. Position: Senior Software Engineer, IT Application Management

Work Location: Proton City, Tanjung Malim, Perak

About the Role:

IT Application Management requires dedicated personnel who is capable of running projects, and at the same time can support daily manufacturing operation request for enhancement and system support. Experience and knowledge in automotive manufacturing is required to define best manufacturing processes and make fast decisions during system troubleshooting. The personnel will be involved throughout the project execution and will continue to provide system support during system stabilization.

Your Day to Day:

• Execute requirement and functional specification gathering, user interface and user experience design.
• Development of the application’s backend integration, database structure, server configuration.
• Development of the application’s programs, unit test, user acceptance test, and deployment.
• Application’s support and maintenance, continuous improvement, and application enhancement.
• Will be part of the project team for Geely’s Manufacturing Executing System (GMES).

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.

Experience

Experience in system development, project management, operation support and system maintenance.

Specific Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Knowledge in system development using Microsoft Visual Studio and database integration, MS SQL, Oracle.
• Experienced in the development of secured websites, backend server applications, Web Service API, Data integrations and PLC programming.
• Possesses a mature personality, good interpersonal and communication skills, and can communicate well with all levels of personnel within the organization.
• Ability to multitask, highly numerate with attention to detail.
• Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage.
• Experience in IT Manufacturing and Project Management is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of the SDLC process.

About the Role:

1. As the IT Senior Software Engineer - HR Systems, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of our HR technology infrastructure.
2. To lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of IT services to our HR department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute IT strategies for HR systems, aligning with business objectives.
2. Manage the implementation and upgrades of HR systems (e.g. SAP HCM, Workday, etc.).
3. Manage vendor relationships and contracts for HR system support.
4. Ensure the security and compliance of HR systems with relevant regulations.
5. Develop and manage IT budgets for HR systems.
6. To be a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
7. Collaborate with HR and other departments to identify and address needs.
8. Oversee the development and maintenance of system documentation and training materials.
9. Manage all system change requests.
10. Ensure high system availability.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in IT management, with a focus on HR systems**.**
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of IT security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, PDPA).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with budget management and vendor negotiations.
• ITIL or PMP certification is a plus.
