Software Engineer (Junior) Remote

We are looking for a passionate and disciplined Software Engineer to join our growing development team. The role focuses on building and maintaining modern web applications using Laravel and Next.js with integrations to ERP and AI components. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment and ensure high-quality, maintainable code delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Web Application Development
• Develop, maintain, and optimize systems using Laravel (PHP), Next. js 16 (TypeScript), and MySQL.
• Ensure frontend and backend systems communicate efficiently through APIs.
• Server and Deployment
• Perform basic SSH commands to manage deployments, server configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Handle project setup in local and staging environments.
• AI and Automation
• Understand basic AI prompting and how AI models are trained to support integration tasks with AI services.
• Assist in integrating AI-based features (e.g., recommendation engines, chatbots).
• ERP Integration
• Work with or learn ERP systems such as SAP, AutoCount, or SQL Accounting for data synchronization and automation.
• E-commerce Platform
• Support, maintain, and enhance existing e-commerce modules including product, order, and customer flows.
• Team Collaboration
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings and evening sync sessions.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and deliverables clearly to team leads.

Technical Skills Required

• Languages: PHP, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL
• Frameworks: Laravel 13, Next.js 16
• Database: MySQL
• Tools: Git, SSH, VS Code, Postman
• Additional Advantage: Familiarity with AI model logic, ERP integration, or e-commerce architecture.

Working Hours & Schedule

• Days: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Daily Meetings:
• Morning Stand-up: 9:00 AM (≈30 mins)
• Evening Wrap-up: 6:00 PM (≈30 mins)
• Attendance for both meetings is mandatory.

Office Day:

• Must attend in-office every Tuesday (full day).
• Office location: Selayang, Selangor.
• Overtime Expectation:
• If tasks are not completed by deadline (DDL), engineers are required to work overtime at night or during weekends to complete them.
• Laptop must be carried at all times in case urgent support is needed outside office hours.Work Culture & Expectations
