What they need
Software Engineer – Performance & Optimisation | Dublin
I'm working with a growing AI infrastructure company in Dublin that's looking to hire a couple of strong software engineers to join its team.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of how software works, identifying performance bottlenecks and figuring out how to make things run faster and more efficiently.
You'll be working on complex, compute-intensive systems where performance really matters. The work involves everything from investigating issues deep within existing codebases to improving how software uses memory, processing power and other resources.
They're open to engineers at different stages of their careers. You don't need to have worked in AI infrastructure before, but you should have strong programming fundamentals, a curious mindset and an interest in solving difficult technical problems.
What you'll be doing
- Investigating and resolving performance bottlenecks across complex software systems.
- Profiling and benchmarking applications to understand where improvements can be made.
- Working with existing codebases, debugging issues and implementing performance improvements.
- Optimising memory usage, computational efficiency and overall system throughput.
- Working on performance-sensitive AI workloads and helping improve how models run in production.
- Experimenting with different approaches, measuring results and making improvements based on real data.
- Collaborating with other engineers on challenging technical problems.
What we're looking for
- Strong programming experience with Python, C++ or similar languages.
- A solid understanding of software performance, memory management and computational efficiency.
- Experience with performance profiling, debugging or optimisation.
- Comfortable working with complex systems and digging into unfamiliar code.
- An understanding of parallel processing, concurrency or distributed computing.
- Someone who enjoys hands-on engineering and solving problems rather than simply working at the application layer.
Some of the technology involved
The environment includes Python, C++, Linux and GPU-accelerated computing, alongside modern AI and machine learning technologies.
Experience with CUDA, PyTorch or other high-performance computing tools would be useful, although we're equally interested in engineers with strong systems programming backgrounds who want to move further into this space.
If you're someone who enjoys understanding why systems behave the way they do, getting into the underlying code and finding ways to make things faster, I'd be interested in having a chat.
Other offers great for you!
