Software Engineer (Permanent / Contract)

Job Purpose

This role involves developing and maintaining internal data-driven applications, business systems, tools, and dashboards. You will design and develop applications based on business requirements, work directly with stakeholders to understand operational needs, and manage databases and data throughout the software development lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain internal data-driven applications, business systems, tools, and dashboards
• Design and develop applications from the ground up based on business requirements
• Develop application functionalities, data-processing logic, database queries, reports, and user interfaces
• Work directly with business users and stakeholders to understand business processes and operational requirements
• Translate business requirements and business terminology into clear functional and technical requirements
• Design basic database structures, tables, relationships, views, and queries
• Write and optimize SQL queries for application and reporting purposes
• Perform data validation, data cleansing, and data troubleshooting
• Follow established SDLC practices throughout the application lifecycle
• Work with IT security and infrastructure teams to address security findings and ensure applications comply with security requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in software development, data application development, database development, or a related field
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java or equivalent programming languages
• Basic understanding of enterprise security technologies and controls, including SIEM, PAM, vulnerability scanning, security monitoring, and IT audit controls
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a process-and solution-oriented mindset
• Good ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business users
