Software Engineer — Quantitative Trading Firm

A market-leading proprietary trading firm operating across global equities, futures, FX and ETFs. Founded in 2000, the firm is engineering-led: it builds its own systems end-to-end, from low-latency trading infrastructure to the programming languages and tools its engineers use daily. The Hong Kong office anchors the firm's Asia-Pacific market-making and research operations. Technology isn't a support function here — engineers sit alongside traders and researchers, work in small close-knit teams, and own problems from design through production.

About the Role

We're hiring Software Engineers for the Hong Kong office, at levels from new graduate through mid-senior. You'll work on a broad and open-ended set of problems: high-performance trading systems, data infrastructure, developer tooling, and even programming language design.

What you'll do:

• Design, build and maintain production systems that run in a live, high-stakes environment

• Collaborate closely with traders and researchers — the feedback loop is tight and you see your impact immediately

• Work in small, close-knit teams with no rigid hierarchy

• Dig into how things really work, across systems, tooling and internal libraries

About You

If you've never thought about a career in finance, you're in good company — many people here were in the same position before joining. We're more interested in how you think and learn than in what you currently know. You should be:

• A top-notch programmer with a genuine love for technology

• Strong in data structures, algorithms and mathematical reasoning — comfortable thinking from first principles

• Intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to learn

• Humble and unafraid to ask questions and admit mistakes

• Fluent in English

Nice to have (not required):

• Competitive programming background (IOI, ICPC, CCPC, Codeforces high rating)

• Mathematics olympiad experience (IMO, CMO)

• Low-latency, distributed or systems-level engineering

• Open-source contributions
