Software Engineer – Remote (.NET / C#)

About the Role

SageSure, a leading provider of property insurance solutions in the United States, is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support its specialty insurance operations.

In this role, you will maintain, enhance, and develop critical software applications that support insurance product development, underwriting workflows, and risk management.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of software engineers, database administrators, actuaries, catastrophe risk modelers, underwriters, and data analysts.

We are looking for an engineer who combines strong C#, .NET, ASP.NET, SQL, and front-end development expertise with the ability to independently deliver reliable solutions in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance software applications supporting insurance product development, underwriting, and risk management.
• Develop and improve applications using C#, ASP.NET, and .NET technologies.
• Build and integrate solutions using RESTful APIs and internal or third-party services.
• Maintain and enhance desktop applications developed with WinForms or WPF.
• Develop and support front-end functionality using technologies such as React and jQuery.
• Automate business processes through services, scheduled jobs, and workflow improvements.
• Configure and maintain application services, monitoring, and troubleshooting processes.
• Collaborate with database administrators to ensure data integrity, reliability, and system performance.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and evolving business requirements.
• Work closely with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to deliver practical, scalable solutions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET.
• Experience developing front-end applications using React, jQuery, or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, including SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of MVVM design patterns.
• Experience with process automation, service configuration, and scheduled jobs.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and application maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive approach to system reliability, continuous improvement, and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro.
• Knowledge of spatial data management and geospatial applications.
• Experience programming with Python.
• Previous experience working in research and development (R&D) environments.
• Experience as a software engineer embedded within a business unit.
• Experience in the insurance industry, particularly property insurance or underwriting systems.
• Ability to work iteratively and adapt technical solutions to changing business requirements.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced .NET Software Engineer with a strong background in maintaining and enhancing business-critical applications.

We are particularly interested in professionals who have worked extensively with C#, ASP.NET, SQL/PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and desktop applications using WinForms or WPF.

The strongest candidates will also demonstrate experience in process automation, application troubleshooting, system integrations, and cross-functional collaboration.

Additional expertise in ArcGIS, Python, geospatial data, or insurance technology will be highly valued.
