Robotics Software Engineer

Greater Boston | $100,000-$300,000 + equity | Full-time on-site

If you’re good at writing software for robots but don’t want to spend your career boxed into one narrow part of the stack, this is worth a look.

You’ll be joining an early-stage robotics business building software for physical automation systems used in real production environments.

The work is broad by design.

One problem might sit close to embedded or real-time systems. The next could involve motion planning, perception, machine learning or infrastructure. The expectation is that you can move across those areas and solve whatever is getting in the way of better robotic performance.

That breadth is the main attraction here.

You won’t be writing software several layers removed from the product. What you build ends up on physical systems operating in customer environments, so the link between engineering decisions and real-world performance is very direct.

This will suit someone who has already built software for robots, autonomous hardware or comparable physical systems and is comfortable working across more than one technical layer.

You’ll need strong Python, solid programming fundamentals and at least 2 years of relevant software engineering experience within robotics, automation or embedded systems.

A degree in Computer Science, Robotics or a related engineering discipline is required.

Experience with ROS, motion planning, perception, ML, Docker, Kubernetes or systemd would all be useful, but you do not need to tick every box.

The role is on-site in the Greater Boston area, five days a week.

Salary is $100,000–$300,000 , depending on level and experience, plus equity.
