Software Engineer, Safety Processing

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer, Safety Processing to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building and scaling backend systems that support content review, detection, and safety operations at massive scale. You will partner closely with Trust & Safety, ML, Policy, and product teams to deliver reliable solutions that improve system performance, security, and scalability. The position requires a strong engineering mindset, including the ability to anticipate adversarial risks and operate critical production services.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $160,000 – $220,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Scale and improve content review and detection processes
• Build and maintain production systems operating at massive scale
• Participate in on-call rotations for system maintenance and support
• Adopt an adversarial mindset to foresee security and scalability issues
• Collaborate with Trust & Safety, ML, Policy, and product teams to deliver solutions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend services and/or infrastructure using Python or a similar language
• Experience building and operating distributed systems on platforms like GCP or AWS
• Strong debugging skills for complex, multi-service codebases
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
