Software Engineer (Python / C++) – High-Growth Start-Up | Singapore

An exciting technology-driven start-up is looking for talented Software Engineers with strong Python or C++ programming skills and experience building large-scale, high-performance systems.

This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering team, working closely with researchers to build sophisticated research infrastructure, data platforms and performance-critical applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, preferably from a Big Tech or large-scale technology environment, and enjoy the ownership, flexibility and fast-paced nature of a start-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable research infrastructure, including backtesting and simulation frameworks, order book construction and financial data services.
• Build robust market data ingestion, processing and normalisation pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, completeness and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with researchers to take models from prototype to production, optimising performance-critical applications using Python, C++ and CUDA where appropriate.
• Develop internal engineering tools and automation solutions, leveraging AI-assisted coding tools to improve development efficiency.
• Write clean, well-tested and maintainable code, contributing to code reviews and engineering best practices.
• Take ownership of technical challenges and contribute to architectural and engineering decisions.

Key Requirements

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience in Python and/or C++.
• Proven experience designing, building or maintaining large-scale platforms, distributed systems or high-performance applications.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, system design and performance optimisation.
• Experience working in Big Tech or other engineering-intensive environments is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
• A collaborative, proactive and adaptable personality, with a genuine interest in working within a start-up environment.
• Comfortable taking ownership, working independently and solving complex technical problems.
