Software Engineer, Variant Classification

The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining systems for variant classification and genomic data interpretation.

Key Duties Include

• Building tools for variant, sample, and test data management to support interpretation processes
• Developing systems to convert raw bioinformatic data into normalized variant and sample information
• Optimizing storage solutions for expanding genomic data
• Providing and maintaining variant-level annotations for accurate interpretation
• Automating evidence placement and classification workflows

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with over 10 years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Python, relational databases, web frameworks, and front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS)
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
