Software Engineering Director

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with deep proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing software engineers.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software products on time and at scale.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to review code, engage in architecture discussions, and make informed technical trade-offs.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with modern software delivery tooling (Jira, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines).
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain strong engineering talent.
• Familiarity with cloud-native platforms and microservices-based design patterns.
• Exposure to resiliency engineering, observability, and high-availability systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and delivering digital products, platforms, and customer-facing applications within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of digital channels, customer experience, omnichannel engagement, and digital transformation initiatives, particularly within financial services.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating API-driven, event-driven, and cloud-native architectures to enable scalable digital capabilities.
• Familiarity with modern web and mobile application architectures, digital platforms, and customer engagement technologies.
• Experience leading engineering teams responsible for digital experiences, self-service capabilities, and customer-facing platforms.
• Knowledge of modern data, AI, and automation capabilities that enhance digital products and customer experiences.
