Software Engineering Manager

At Suitsupply we build our own software. Our e-commerce platform, our supply chain, and the tools our stores run on are built in-house by 100+ engineers in Amsterdam, on an event-driven, distributed architecture designed to scale with us.

We're growing: new markets, new stores, more customers. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead several of the teams making that possible.

What you'll do

• Lead and coach multiple engineering teams, building a culture of autonomy, ownership and continuous improvement.
• Own the delivery of software that stands up to real business needs — and real customers.
• Grow your engineers: development plans, knowledge sharing, technical depth. Velocity follows from people, not process.
• Shape the long-term tech and product direction together with other Engineering Managers, Architects, Product Owners and our Director of Engineering.
• Simplify what we've inherited. Part of scaling from startup to mature organisation is having the judgement to cut complexity rather than add to it.

What you bring

• Several years leading scrum and agile teams of 5+ engineers, ideally 2+ teams at once.
• A computer science degree, or a hands-on development background that speaks for itself.
• A strong engineering foundation across multiple languages — though hands-on coding isn't part of this role.
• A track record in line management: hiring well, growing people, and building teams that keep performing after you step back.
• Experience in an international environment, and the ability to switch between a deep technical conversation and a business one without losing either audience.
