Software Engineering Manager

Position Overview:

• Functional—no hands on keyboard but need a Microsoft stack background. Could do some vibe coding with Claude. Dev background is important because of architectural reviews, questioning time lines, really invested in the full life cycle
• This position will have 8 direct reports—Development/BA/QA
• They provide a service, so they do challenge the business. They do not just take an order, they build something and achieve the ROI that was expected
• Development background—focus on application development, they are more about creating software. They create and implement the software on this team Development is done with .NET.
• Aptitude and using AI-----the are using Claude daily. They are rebuilding applications from the ground up within Claude.—these could be the projects they are working on.
• Very polished, well spoken, executive summaries
• This is not a heavily layered company, so could talk to CIO or data entry operator day to day. Need to be able to represent IT, speak to Business and work with any level of the organization.
• They are moving away from old practices and changing some things from the business sense to keep up with the competition
