About the Opportunity:

The SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER will lead a team of 5 to 8 software engineers responsible for developing and maintaining the enterprise learning platform. This role is essential for ensuring the team's productivity, quality of output, and alignment with organizational objectives. The manager will facilitate daily work prioritization, remove obstacles, and support team development to deliver a dependable and scalable product.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and support a team of 5–8 engineers developing Ruby on Rails services and React frontends
• Plan and allocate daily and sprint work, monitor progress, and maintain delivery schedules
• Troubleshoot obstacles, clarify requirements, and coordinate handoffs among engineers, teams, and vendors
• Triage bugs and production issues to minimize customer impact
• Maintain quality and consistency standards, including coding, QA, code review, testing, and documentation
• Provide real-time feedback, conduct regular 1:1 meetings, and recognize individual and team achievements
• Manage onboarding and skill development of new team members
• Identify and implement team-level process improvements, escalating issues when necessary
• Promote responsible use of AI-assisted development tools
• Ensure secure, ethical, and resilient engineering practices across all team outputs

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development and 2 years managing or leading software engineering teams
• Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, PostgreSQL, API management, cloud computing, DevOps, and software design
• Proven ability to manage daily team delivery reliably with adherence to standards and schedules
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience onboarding and developing engineers effectively
• Sound judgment regarding issue resolution and escalation
• Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability
• Understanding of information and data security principles with an ethical, customer-focused approach

Pay Range and Compensation Package:
