Software Engineering Manager - Order Fulfillment

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineering Manager - Order Fulfillment to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This role will guide a software engineering team focused on order fulfillment capabilities that support reliable, scalable retail operations. You will partner closely with product teams, vendors, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver secure solutions, improve engineering consistency, and strengthen technical execution. The position also emphasizes automation, observability, and team development within a fast-moving, enterprise technology environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $240,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to create secure and scalable software solutions
• Document and ensure compliance with quality and change control standards
• Write custom code to automate infrastructure and monitoring services
• Work with vendors for successful implementation of critical tools
• Create dashboards and alerts to proactively address issues
• Lead review board sessions to drive consistency across the enterprise
• Mentor and coach software engineers to foster talent development

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant work experience in software engineering
• Mastery of an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java
• Experience with GCP applications and backend Java
• Proficiency in a modern scripting language, preferably Python
• Strong leadership skills on complex enterprise projects
