Software Engineering Technical Leader (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineering Technical Leader (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will shape the technical direction for software quality and test infrastructure across engineering teams in a complex, highly scaled environment. The leader will focus on building reusable frameworks, developer tooling, and automated quality gates that improve delivery speed and confidence. This position also partners closely with engineers and other technical stakeholders to strengthen testability, surface actionable metrics, and elevate engineering standards across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $177,600 – $257,400 annually

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the C++ testing ecosystem used by engineering teams
• Create reusable testing frameworks and developer tools to enhance engineering quality
• Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines to deliver actionable feedback to engineers
• Develop platforms to track key engineering metrics for informed decision-making
• Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across various teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with expert-level C++ skills
• Experience developing automation and test infrastructure using Python or similar languages
• Proven ability to design and maintain reusable testing frameworks for multiple teams
• Expertise in C++ testing frameworks such as GoogleTest, Google Mock, or similar
• Proficiency with dependency management tools including Bazel or CMake
• Strong foundation in automated testing within modern delivery workflows, such as Kubernetes
• Deep knowledge of software design principles that enhance testability
