Software Manager

Position Overview

The Software Manager is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary software engineering team in the design, development, and delivery of software for advanced burn‑in test equipment and/or a wafer aligner. This role requires strong technical leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage both people and complex engineering projects. The Software Manager will oversee software architecture, development processes, team performance, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure high‑quality, reliable software solutions that meet customer and product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the software engineering team, including hiring, mentoring, performance evaluation, and career development
• Oversee software architecture and technical direction, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high‑performance solutions
• Guide development efforts using C++, STL, Java, Python, and C# across Linux and Windows environments
• Plan and manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to meet product and customer requirements
• Collaborate with Applications, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware and production workflows
• Review and approve technical designs, code quality, and test strategies, including black‑box and white‑box test cases
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, documentation standards, and engineering best practices
• Provide high‑level technical support for customer applications and escalated issues
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, version control practices, and release management processes
• Lead root‑cause analysis efforts for complex system issues and implement long‑term corrective actions
• Represent the software team in cross‑functional meetings, customer discussions, and product planning sessions

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Master’s degree preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Java, Python, and C#
• Deep experience with Linux and Windows development environments
• Strong understanding of multithreaded, task‑based, and GUI application development
• Ability to evaluate and guide black‑box and white‑box test case development
• Knowledge of engineering tools including Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket, and GitKraken is beneficial.
• Background in multidisciplinary product development involving software and electronics

Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of professional software engineering experience
• At least 3 years of leadership or management experience
• Experience in semiconductor burn‑in test operations or manufacturing technology is highly desirable
• Proven track record of managing engineering teams and delivering complex software projects
