Software Packaging Engineer

As a Software Packaging Engineer , you'll be creating complex scripted packages for multiple customers in different industries. Your responsibilities will encompass packaging, testing, and delivering applications using our in-house platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Packaging: Create software packages based on customer requests.
• Testing: Thoroughly test packages and document the process in our ticketing system.
• Customer Interaction: Collaborate with global customers via email and video meetings to provide troubleshooting, guidance, and support.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve customer-related software and operating system issues.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of updates and processes.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with team members on complex issues and escalations.
• Time Management: Prioritize and manage workload independently.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Software Packaging: Proficiency in tools like Orca, MSI , ODT, Transforms, PowerShell App Deploy Toolkit, Wise Script, and Admin Studio.
• Scripting: Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, AutoIt, Visual Basic, and Batch.
• Endpoint Management: Familiarity with deployment tools like SCCM, Intune, Azure, Endpoint Central, and Ivanti.
• Configuration: Strong understanding of endpoint configuration and customization.
• Software Updates: Knowledge of software update and third-party patching (e.g., WSUS, SUP, Windows Update).
• OSD and Drivers: Experience with OSD, drivers, and task sequences.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet customer deadlines.
• Customer Support: High-level customer support skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Security: Familiarity with security best practices for software packaging and deployment.
• Version Control: Experience with version control systems like GitHub.
• Ticketing Systems: Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Freshdesk.
