Software QA Tester (Automation Testing)

Schedule: 1PM-10PM MNL, but it might change to a graveyard shift

This is a full-time role responsible for ensuring the quality and usability of products across web, mobile, and API platforms. The position requires a mix of exploratory testing, automated test development, and collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Support teams.

What does a day in the life as a Software QA Tester (Automation Testing) look like?

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression test suites.
• Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and API testing across products and services.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers during requirement refinement, sprint planning, and release validation.
• Contribute to automated testing initiatives and help improve overall test coverage.
• Validate software behavior across multiple browsers, devices, and environments.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and release processes.
• Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

What are the required qualifications for a Software QA Tester (Automation Testing)?

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or quality engineering.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycles, and release processes.
• Experience testing modern web applications, APIs, and integrated systems.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and automated regression testing concepts.
• Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Postman, browser developer tools, and SQL.
• Understanding of HTTP requests, REST APIs, and client/server application behavior.
• Ability to investigate issues, reproduce bugs, and clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in an Agile development environment.
• Curiosity, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to improving product quality.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with automated UI testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Experience validating payment flows, transactional systems, or third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment environments.
