Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing for web, mobile, and backend systems.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects until resolution.
• Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing before production deployment.
• Work closely with software developers to investigate root causes and improve software quality.
• Validate application data using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Prepare testing reports, release readiness reports, and quality metrics.
• Ensure software complies with company quality standards before production deployment.
• Continuously improve QA processes, testing documentation, and automation coverage.
• Stay updated with emerging software testing tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.
• Proven hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Experience in testing web application, mobile application, and performance testing.
• Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in automated testing tools on backend, databases, and user interface.
• Knowledge of quality strategies, processes and tools are advantageous.
• Working experience with Laravel Framework, PHP, JavaScript, Python scripting and various types of operating system: Windows, Unix, Linux etc is advantageous.
• Familiar with Git version control, ClickUp, Jira or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, positive attitude and self-motivated.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Added Advantage:

• Experience in Financial Services, Credit Assessment, Payment Gateway, or Human Resources Management Systems.
• Experience in testing APIs and microservices.
• Experience in Docker.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience using AI tools to assist with software testing, test case generation, test automation, debugging, test data generation, or QA documentation.
