Software Quality Engineer

The Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving end-to-end quality assurance for next-generation intelligent infrastructure products. This role will develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies across embedded firmware, network communications, and web-based user interfaces supporting smart power panels, DC distribution systems, and intelligent optical interconnect products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both software and hardware environments and be comfortable testing products where embedded systems, networking, and web applications intersect. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet the reliability, security, performance, and availability expectations of leading telecom and data center customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain automated testing environments for embedded firmware used in smart power distribution and optical routing products.
• Test and validate communication protocols including SNMP, Modbus, REST APIs, TCP/IP, CAN, MQTT, and HTTPS to ensure accurate telemetry, monitoring, and remote-control functionality.
• Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing , fault injection, power-cycle testing, stress testing, and firmware regression testing.
• Develop and maintain automated UI testing frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright , or similar technologies.
• Test embedded web interfaces and network-management applications
• Drive the transition from manual testing toward scalable, automated testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines .
• Develop and maintain detailed test strategies, test plans, test cases, traceability documentation, and release validation reports.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, software, and web development teams to identify, reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects throughout the development lifecycle.
• Investigate production and field issues and perform root-cause analysis using tools such as logic analyzers, serial debuggers, digital multimeters, and Wireshark .
• Support software and firmware releases in meeting applicable security, quality, telecom, and enterprise requirements .
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support product quality and engineering objectives.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering , or a related technical field required. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• 3–5+ years of Software Quality Engineering / QA experience , preferably testing products that combine embedded firmware with web-based interfaces.
• Hands-on experience testing embedded C/C++ firmware or Linux-based embedded systems and edge controllers.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting serial and network communication protocols .
